Once again I stand in awe of your productive capabilities. And feel so terribly ashamed of my own.

Off to read it now!

BTW Finally(!) got to see V for Vendetta.....I feel a review coming on.......

I can't believe how many of the reviewers thought Meg was into prostitution!?!?!? I thought the de Gas thing was pretty clear, if anything a red herring to keep me guessing, but oh well...:D

I can't say I'm too surprised by Agathe's reaction, it's not like Artist's Model has exactly been a "mainstream" occupation for women throughout history, so to the extent that my mind is cleaner or dirtier than others, I guess I was just working on the assumption that given that Anais Nin, by the early 20th century was still exploiting the exoticism or "bohemian" qualities of the art scene, that the nineteenth century hadn't progressed much socially beyond the regular estimation of women who "exposed" themselves in any fashion as morally suspect. But then, most of what I know of the history of modelling comes form reading about Artemisia Gentileschi and the 16th century, so I'll shut up now :D

No, you're perfectly right - modelling was not an occupation you'd advertise, even if you're a ballet dancer (which at least gives you an aura of glamour, even if it's of a disreputable sort, like being a courtesan).

Re Meg's supposed prostitution - I guess it's my fault for being so tardy with updates, because nobody seems to remember chapter 9 by now (Degas's first appearance). Oh well. It's a pity that apparently Giry's "I gave you my music" moment at the end didn't work for at least one person, but that's life.

Oh, and I'm glad you like the avatar. :D I've been meaning to make a Mme. Giry one for ages.
