Actors list - pinched from Elena

It occurred to me that I don't know all that many actors, especially male ones, and whenever the subject of "casting" a book comes up, I have no names to suggest. So I'm pinching this list from Elena for reference, and while I'm at it, I'm going to play along.

Personally I'd put a huge black line through Cillian Murphy, if only for the hideous wig he sported in Girl with a Pearl Earring. But also because I am convinced he is actually an alien.

He was the butcher dude who kept pursuing Griet. With the beanie. I'm suggesting that he is one scary looking alien. I'd be more open to alien-human relationships if they stepped up their act beyond assuming the countenance of the likes of Mr Murphy, or, dare I say, Mr Spacey. :D

I only wish I didn't notice him, but the wig get-up was truly offensive to behold. Similarly offensive as the pace of the film itself. See, if the film-makers had taken advantage of Murphy's true alien idnetity, they could at least have him explode or abduct the saucy wench or something! Anything! Nicely shot though. [/rant]

Eeee, "Dear Frankie"! Who did you kill to get your hands on it? You'll have to let me know what you think of it. Unless you really hate it. In which case don't depress me. :D



Agree about the sloooooow pace of "Girl With a Pearl Earring" - actually the whole movie would have been vastly improved by being turned into a colour album of stills. (Although having recently suffered through "Edvard Munch", I discovered it can actually be worse). Beautiful photography though, no argument there.



Also, those who claim Emmy Rossum had one facial exprеssion in POTO should be forced to watch Scarlett Johanssen's efforts in "Girl...". I understand she was trying to look like the painting, but what can I say -- she succeeded a little too well.

God, I felt like SCREAMING by the time that film was finished, and I am not easily bored, by any accounts, in fact I am far too easily amused :D



As to My Most Precious Frankie :D I had to basically do a lap of the town making some deliveries, picking things up (like new laptop for me!!!), and therefore I found it within my power to swing by the Other Video Ezy and lo and behold...t'was in! And on Tightarse Tuesday too!



DVD rental on tightarse tuesday: $1



Newly acquired capacity to burn and pirate films and cds to my heart's content: priceless!

Там не такая роль, чтобы барышни в обморок падали (и к тому же, он тогда набрал вес для роли), но мне очень понравилось, как он сыграл. Сильно, и даже местами страшно. Но тут на вкус и на цвет, конечно. :)
