I actually hadn't thought of the Cheney situation, but now you mention it, it has turned my devious chuckle into outright guffaws...



I was thinking more along the lines of "The Most Dangerous Game" and it's more recent incarnations like "Battle Royale"; "Series 7"; "Hostel" and "The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror XXVI...C...whatever number"



heeheeeeeehheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

The only one of those I've seen was the Simpsons "Treehouse of Horror" and I have no idea what it has to do with getting half of one's face blown off by a bullet -- but I'll take your word for it.



So you think it'll be portraits, huh. Well, so far we've had guesses of everything from "the world's oldest profession" (surely that should be forager?) to the Moulin Rouge (which, I'd like to point out, did not yet exist, although a far more authentic establishment by the name of the Moulin de la Galette did)... and now modelling. As the Russians say, everyone understands things to the extent of their own corruption, which would suggest that you have the cleanest mind of every reader who has hazarded a guess so far. Actually, there is a big fat hint about what's going on quite early on in "Solo". Feel free to hunt it out, but please don't give away the answer over on ff.net.
